La Swing band si forma nel 2005 a Palermo, in Sicilia
con l’intento di ricreare il caloroso sound dello Swing e del Jive degli anni 40 e 50, musica che regnava sovrana nelle sale da ballo dell'epoca, una musica nata per divertire. I Jumpin'up rispecchiano la classica formazione combo delle band di quegli anni, sezione ritmica, sezione fiati, pianoforte, chitarra e voce, un perfetto matrimonio di strumenti che si sposano tra loro dando vita ad un ritmo frenetico.
Lo show si svolge in pieno stile anni 50, nell’abbigliamento, nella strumentazione, nelle coreografie ma anche nel modo di interpretare lo spettacolo. Uno show per tutte le età fatto da una musica che non è mai tramontata.
La musica proposta dai Jumpin’up è tratta dal repertorio Swing, Jump Blues, Old Rhythm and Blues, Rock & Roll e Jive ed abbraccia gran parte dello swing italiano, (come Renato Carosone, Fred Buscaglione, il quartetto Cetra) e lo swing americano, Louis Prima (originario delle sicilia), Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, Roy Brown, Bull Moose Jackson ma anche classici dello swing di Benny Goodman per gli sfrenati ballerini di Lindy Hop.

Jumpin’up was formed in 2005 in Palermo, Sicily, with the aim of recreating the warmth and energy of Swing, Jive and Rhythm and Blues from the 1940s and 1950s (more than 20 years playing around the world. A classic combo lineup of the bands from that era, featuring rhythm section, horns, piano, guitar and vocals. This perfect blend of instruments creates an exciting, elegant and driving sound, bringing audiences back to the atmosphere of the great American and Italian clubs of the postwar years.
Jumpin’up’s repertoire includes Swing, Jump Blues, Old Rhythm and Blues, Rock & Roll and Jive, embracing both Italian swing, with artists such as Renato Carosone, Fred Buscaglione and Quartetto Cetra, and American swing, with Louis Prima, a musician of Sicilian origin, Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, Roy Brown, Bull Moose Jackson and many others.
